Vail Resorts Stewardship Claims in Question over 2021 Gore Creek Spill
Restored Lands™ has put together a petition asking Vail Resorts to answer for their "Epic Promise's" faltering performance with a call for them to do better.
Our petition takes aim at the 2021 incident where Vail released 2 million gallons of water contaminated with toxic algicide into Gore Creek, killing aquatic wildlife, poisoning the ecosystem, and leaving the company responsible for just 40% of the project’s cost—while taxpayers & local groups fund the rest.
Vail worsened the creeks health, settled in court and never acknowledged fault. This was an opportunity to pick up the slack for the community and show their commitment to the Epic Promise. Instead, another reactive response may be drawing attention to a long-standing pattern...
The restoration project is unofficially due to start this summer 2025 bringing this event back into the spotlight.
Help us bring awareness to this issue before Vail can put a bow on the whole thing!
Let Vail know you smell something fishy, sign today!

ABOUT RESTORED LANDS FOUNDER
Hello, my name is Henry & I am the founder of Restored Lands Nonprofit. I decided to start this nonprofit while I was nomading & exploring around the West throughout 2022 & '23 living in my truck camper, staying on different public lands for the better part of 2 years. During this time I saw the need firsthand for an operation such as this; that cleans up the natural lands we love & educates the people who use those lands how to responsibly enjoy them. While our efforts have grown beyond that, this is our origin story.
I believe the Earths health & wellbeing is our responsibility as a people and while the world is currently in the process of becoming anew, there are still those of us who need to come together to bring in our most positive future. That is what I have set out to do, with you, together.
As a backcountry tour guide & lifelong outdoor enthusiast I wish to continue to share and use our beautiful lands for generations to come. I invite you to join our movement towards a more sustainable planet & empowering individuals.
